What is REBEL VERSES you ask?

REBEL VERSES is the first youth-based theater festival of its kind. Heading into our 8th year, the festival provides a unique opportunity for young artists to write, act, direct and produce theatrical work. Culminating in a two-week run that showcases various youth organizations, young and emerging artists, the repertory format of the festival offers a rare chance for fellow artists to view each others performance and network with their peers. Connecting all the diverse youth organization around the metropolitan area is a major component of Rebel Verses.

This festival was born out of the dire need here in New York City for new voices in theater. It is a journey into stories you might not know, told by people you might have forgotten. Our collective is youth-based, our extended family is ageless, sexless, raceless and timeless.
